So our 2012 season was amazing and a disaster in many ways... I feel it is over now and yet it never really got going.
For the first time since i started competing i felt i was really ready for a good season, I had picked up some fantastic sponsors and supporters and I was feeling confident.
Our season started ona huge high with us completing our BE100 plus at munstead but due to mother nature much of our fitness work and future spring runs were affected, I struggled more than I thought I would keeping a slightly more senior alex at peak fitness whilst also playing mummy to my now quite mobile and demanding 1 year old boy.
I had my heart set on a few more runs and other than some un-aff dressage I decided to aim for Iping and My boss paid for my entry as a B-day pressie, I worked as hard as i could but despite my best efforts I still felt I let Alex down on the day and nursed a tired Alex home (The hills really took it out of him)
Again re-grouped and started turning thoughts to autumn events, I registed with british Dressage, Ordered my Blingy Browband and hope for a good run in out Blenheim Ridng club class, but un-fortunately Alex had managed to act a twonk in the field and was not feeling quite right, I gave him bit of time off but it did not improve and so the vet was called, Our blenheim dream was over and the BD debut was pushed back.
Alex had an ultra-sound tnedon scan that revealed a small hole in his superficial flexor tendon and slight swelling to his check ligament, At least 3 months off is the verdict and we will re-scan in 6 weeks to check the healing.
He is happy in his tiny weeny paddock, He is so very well behaved and always behaves like a gentleman.
The vet says he has a 95% chance of comple recovery!!
Big thanks to all my supporters, friends and family and of course my sponsors who I have been so proud to promote throughout the 2012 season. Many thanks. x x
