Education & Training for Horse and Rider
Education & Training for Horse and Rider

Munstead hore Trials was our first run of the season and our first at BE100 for over 2 years, we had entered the 100+ and the nerves did kick in but on the day it all went well, i tried a new shorter dressage warm up to help with the flatness to our dressage, this helped but a bit too much and he had a slightly tense test scoring a 40... not bad for our first BE novice test!! show jumping went well with an unlucky 2 down but both rider error and again the biggest course we had jumped together... he went well and clear xc but i must try harder not to over set up as once again i bought him home with several time penalties!! all in all a great day and i was pleased!!

Festival of the horse qualifier at fairoaks this was our first outing as part of the weyvalley riding club team, i was desperate to make a good impression!! We had an aweful journey down there, note to self... never use sat nav in a horsebox!!! we arrived very stressed and bit behind schedule, i ran off to check in and walk the courses... show jumping looked nice but my gut told me the xc was not alex's cup of tea at all... not open and quite twisty turny with lots of questions!

The idea is to showjump in your xc gear then head straight out xc... Hmm ali is used to a rest at the lorry and he was not impressed... i knew from the off it was not gonna be easy but i tried as we were on the team.... clearly tried too hard and had a fall :( air jacket went off, ali ran for it and i had to face the walk of shame back on my own... put it down to experience and trust my gut instinct in future!!
