This year started really well, we re registered as a BHS instructor, have been very busy with teaching and Alex was looking really well.
The year started with taking Alex out to dressage and getting ourselves placed and qualified for the unaffiliated championships.
It was then time to get our jumping in shape, I put our entry in for the instructor challenge which was to be held at royal windsor horse show, I worked hard taking Aliu out show jump schooling and he was jumping well.
Competing at the royal windsor was to be a big turning point for me as little did i know know it would be the last time Alex and I would showjump!!
A few weeks after windsor i was delivered the news that alex has a greenstick fracture in his splint bone, an inflamed check ligament and a tendon tear.... not good news!!
Back to box rest it was.... and I was faced with the tough decision to retire him from eventing and focus on our dressage.
As ali came back into work it was not as easy to build up his muscle and condition, at this time i was also given the opportunity to school and look after a beautiful PRE andalusian for spanish horse sales, I jumped at the chance however i found the balancing act of 2 horses in 2 different yards, a job, my own business, being wife and mum and some freelance teaching all a bit too much to juggle so with regret i had to send the spanish horse back to his owners, he luckily found a new owner very quickly.
This left me more time to focus on improving my own horse, we attended an andrew gould clinic and then followed that with a few lessons with sarah ridd.... ali's dressage scored improved by over 10% and he finished 2013 with a 2nd place, 3rd overall... he won prize m oney and gained himself some BD points too!
I was a very proud mummy and now we are looking forward to continuing our good scores in 2014!
As always i would lile to thank everyone who supports me, my friends, family and supporters and just the best!!
