I worked really hard over the last month to improve the contact, get Ali moving forwards and stregnthen his canter.
I felt he was going better than he had for a long time, but a few days before we were due to go it all went a bit flat, it was like he couldn't be bothered, i put this down to the school being wetter and tried to stay positive!
When we arrived he was still very calm... too calm!! he let me mount up fine and stood patiently... a sure sign he wasn't himself.
He warmed up ok but was back to napping to the other horses and feeling very tense and sticky but seemed to work through it.
The test itself didnt really go my way, from the first centre line he was backing off and i felt like i flapped my way round, although i have been told it didnt look that bad, I must admit the frustration got to me and i then lost my way for a breif moment.... The test sheet itself was quite positive with many 7's just losing vital marks for the sticky canter work.....it was an improvement on last time so was pleased with that.... never mind, onwards and upwards!!!
